Conferences not only teach participants how to tell stories but present prominent storytellers. This year's conference will feature Donald Davis, MaryGay Ducey and Doug Lipman. They are some of the United States' best and leading storytelling coaches. There will also be 12 other presenters.

BYU employees and their spouses may be eligible for BYU tuition benefits. If they are interested in attending they can call Emilee Barrett at (801) 422-2568.

Join us at the Museum of Peoples and Cultures every Friday at 11am for stories from around the world. Listen to folktales from other cultures and make a craft to take home or share with others.  For preschoolers and young children.  Admission is free.

BYU's Young Company will present a theatre-for-young-audiences production of "A Thousand Cranes" by Kathryn Shultz Miller. It is the award-winning true story of Sadako, a Japanese girl who, 10 years after Hiroshima was bombed in WWII, discovers she has "radiation sickness." While in the hospital she learns of the legend of 1,000 paper cranes and begins folding. She hopes that in completing 1,000 cranes, the gods will grant her one wish. It will play nightly Feb. 2-13 at 7 p.m. in the Nelke Theatre. Two matinees will take place Saturday, Feb. 6 and 13, at 2 and 4 p.m. There will be no performances Sundays or Mondays. Written by one of the greatest comedic playwrights of all time, Molière, "Tartuffe" features the story of Orgon who, in the twilight of his life, has decided to give all his worldly possessions to a holy man named Tartuffe. However, this holy man isn't all that he seems to be, and Orgon's family must convince him to abandon his folly.
