Jimmy Stewart next to the airplaine

Film: The Spirit of St. Louis

Friday, May 12
7:00 AM - 10:00 PM MT
HBLL Auditorium

James Stewart was elated to portray the man he had long admired in this big-screen tribute to airmail pilot Charles A. Lindbergh and his history-making 33 1/2-hour transatlantic flight from New York to Paris in May 1927. Director Billy Wilder (Double Indemnity and Sunset Boulevard) went outside his customary subject matter to helm this ambitious epic. On-location filming in CinemaScope adds to the drama of this tremendous feat that we will celebrate 90 years after Lucky Lindy’s achievement. WARNER BROS. 1957. 2 HRS. 15 MINS. COLOR. CINEMASCOPE. DIRECTOR: BILLY WILDER.
