Loren Stoddard was a senior diplomat and Foreign Service Officer with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) until this year. He served with USAID/Sudan as the Director of General Development. Prior to that, he was Officer-in-Charge for the Cairo, Egypt office. He has 20+ years of experience with USAID, including posts in sub-Saharan Africa (Power Africa), Afghanistan, Colombia, Iraq, Peru, and Central America. His strategic focus includes public/ private partnerships, energy, telecommunications, agribusiness, export development, and competitiveness in conflict environments. Prior to joining USAID, Mr. Stoddard worked as a broker in South Africa, East Asia, and the US. He received his B.A. in Classics: Latin at Brigham Young University and a Masters of Business Administration and International Business at Arizona State University and Thunderbird School of Global Management.
