Being Peaceful in Contentious Times

Tuesday, March 05
5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
250 KMBL

How do we follow President Russell M Nelson’s admonition to be peacemakers? How do we see and treat others as fellow children of God even when they hold views we consider wrong? Come learn how to engage in peaceful conversations across political, moral, and cultural divides.

Enjoy empanadas while watching the film The Basement Talks, a documentary about pro-life and pro-choice Bostonians coming together in love in the aftermath of a tragic shooting. Followed by a brief training session on civil conversation techniques.

Special guests: The Basement Talks filmmakers, BYU alumni Sarah Perkins and Josh Sabey.

Sponsored by the American Studies Program, the Office of Civic Engagement, and the BYU Campus Conversations Project.
