Dr. Chih-Lung Lin, Deputy Department Head and professor of electrical engineering at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, will present “Pixel Circuit Design for High-Frame-Rate Mobile AMOLED Displays”. This talk focuses on the issues for high-frame-rate mobile AMOLED displays, such as compensation time and quality of black images. According to these issues, several previously developed pixel circuits are analyzed, and a pixel circuit that can achieve precise sensing of variations of thin-film transistors by extending the compensation time is introduced. The OLED is completely turned off during non-emission phase, enhancing the quality of black images. Therefore, this pixel circuit is suitable for use in high- frame-rate mobile devices.
