Maxwell Institute Lecture—“Illuminating the Book of Mormon”

Friday, January 25
7:00 PM MT
Hinckley Center - Assembly Hall

Dr. Grant Hardy and artist Brian Kershisnik will deliver the biennial Laura F. Willes Book of Mormon Lecture, “Illuminating the Book of Mormon: A New Edition for the 21st Century”

Despite being the most well-read scripture in the Latter-day Saint canon, many fresh insights and surprises yet lie in store for diligent readers of the Book of Mormon. The new Maxwell Institute Study Edition was created to help deepen the understanding and strengthen the faith of those who have long loved this scripture. Grant Hardy has edited the Study Edition to highlight the text's narrative complexity and coherence, which offers some of the strongest evidences for its historicity and miraculous translation. With this new presentation of the official text, readers will be better able to see how the original authors crafted their writings into another testament of Jesus Christ. Artist Brian Kershisnik contributed twenty original woodcut pieces to further illuminate the text.
