The BYU Library Film Series is celebrating the birthday of James Stewart with a screening of the 1965 film The Flight of the Phoenix.
The film tells the story of a group who survive a plane crash deep in the desert. Stewart, who plays the pilot in the film, was a Brigadier General in the USAF Reserves. Earlier in his life he flew bombers duringWorld War II.
The library holds the James Stewart Collection in our Special Collections.
