Anton Bowden is a professor and the associate chair of the mechanical engineering department at BYU. He is a faculty fellow of the BYU Sorensen Center for Moral and Ethical Leadership. He is a licensed professional engineer and has held various leadership positions within the National Council of Engineering Examiners and Surveyors, currently serving as the Chair of Mechanical Engineering Professional Licensure Exams. His research interests are in spinal biomechanics, medical device design, and wearable sensor systems. His work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health, the National Science Foundation, and several startup companies that have licensed the technologies from his lab. He holds 26 US patents and has published over 115 articles and proceedings papers.
Anton received his PhD in Bioengineering from University of Utah and his BS in Mechanical Engineering from Utah State University. His favorite collaborator is his wife Jennifer and they have published several papers together.
