Elysa Dishman is a professor of law at Brigham Young University’s J. Reuben Clark Law School. Her teaching and research focuses on the intersection of compliance, ethics, and business law. She is a leading scholar on state enforcement, with publications appearing in law reviews and peer-reviewed journals. She also serves on the governing board of ComplianceNet, an international interdisciplinary organization dedicated to compliance scholarship, and is a convener of its biannual conference.
Before entering academia, she practiced law in Washington, D.C., representing corporations and executives in state and federal enforcement actions. She later expanded her practice in Salt Lake City, advising religious and educational organizations. Dishman earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law and her B.A. in political science from BYU.
