Rebekka Matheson is an associate professor and course director for the Brain, Behavior, and Movement course in the Department of Preparatory Learning at the BYU School of Medicine. She also serves as the chair of the faculty council of the faculty senate for the school of medicine.
On main campus, she serves as the Associate Director of the Neuroscience Center in the College of Life Sciences, and continues to teach classes for the Neuroscience Center every fall. She co-directs the Neuroscience in Europe International Study Program in spring terms. Matheson graduated from the Neuroscience Center at BYU and then went to medical school at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where her clinical and research work emphasized neurology and addiction medicine. While in Rochester, she completed additional graduate coursework in neuropharmacology and physiology. She currently serves in the Relief Society Presidency for the Utah State Hospital branch.
