Dr. Jeff Edwards from BYU's Department of Physiology and Developmental Biology will present this year's Phi Kappa Phi Distinguished Faculty Lecture entitled: "The Brain’s Ability to Learn and Adapt: Stress, Exercise and Drugs." What actually happens in our brains that allows us to remember our experiences? How do exercise and stress play positive and negative roles, respectively, in this memory? What are drugs of abuse doing to our brains and is addiction a ‘memory’ of the drug experience? Can addictions be overcome and reversed? If so how?
