Visualizing the Vision: A History of First Vision Art

Monday, October 14
2:00 PM - 3:02 PM
BYU Library Auditorium

Joseph Smith’s First Vision is one of the most common artistically depicted scenes by Latter-day Saint artists and in Church publications. This was not always the case. In this presentation, Dr. Anthony Sweat will trace the development of First Vision art and how it has evolved over time, both enhancing and limiting our own vision of the Vision.
