Caroline Weber of Barnard College will examine two women of privilege in France—Queen Marie Antoinette and the Countess Greffulhe—who used clothing as a singularly potent form of self-expression and self-empowerment. Part of the Global Women's Studies Colloquium.

Jeff Kyong-McClain of the University of Idaho will examine key moments in the history of Christianity in China, the challenges posed by secular nationalism, and the role Christians have played in developing a public sphere in China.
