Migration is one of the most pressing issues Europe faces today. And yet, the movement of people—as individuals, families, or larger communities—across borders is a historical reality that has generated a number of important questions: Who and what determines acceptable forms of movement and resettlement? What does it mean to belong? What happens to the idea of home when complex economic and cultural interrelationships between "here" and "there" drive movements of people between them? In this session, BYU faculty will share legal, literary, and cultural perspectives on migration in Europe past and present.
