Caroline Weber is a professor of French and comparative literature at Barnard College. Weber’s most recent book Proust's Duchess: How Three Celebrated Women Captured the Imagination of Fin-de-Siècle Paris was a finalist for the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Biography. In addition to many scholarly publications, she has written extensively for the mainstream press and for fashion magazines with the aim to make her material accessible and engaging to a wide audience. This presentation is based on her 2007 book, Queen of Fashion: What Marie Antoinette Wore to the Revolution.
