Mohammad Al-Issa was appointed secretary general of the Muslim World League in 2016, having served as minister of justice to the Saudi cabinet since 2009. Previously, Issa was a faculty member at Imam Mohammed bin Saud Islamic University and became vice president to the board of grievances (a legal body for arbitration; 2007–09). He received a BA in comparative Islamic jurisprudence, an MA in comparative judicial studies, and a PhD in studies in general law and constitutional law from Imam Muhammad bin Saud University.
