Individual experiences can lead to the most unexpected journeys. Dr. Nancy Major will address her own journey, dedication to service, and obstacles that turned into opportunities, culminating in a novel and rewarding career. Her involvement in sports is the continuous thread throughout her journey.

Nancy M. Major, MD is a tenured professor, Army physician, sports medicine expert, who has a passion for helping individuals shape the lives they desire across medicine and athletics. After finishing medical school at Tufts University and an internship at Letterman Army Medical Center, she went on to complete a musculoskeletal fellowship and remained on faculty at Duke University, where she became a tenured professor. Her academic career includes numerous textbooks, peer reviewed publications, and lectures both nationally and internationally. Her true passion is in service to others. Dr. Major is on the board of The V Foundation for cancer research as well as the Global Sports Mentoring Program, a partnership with the Dept of State, ESPN, and the University of Tennessee.
