There is currently significant change in the ways that peace is made and maintained in the international system. This talk will discuss an emerging peace landscape that includes new rules and participants. Based on extensive interviews with peacemakers and mediators, this presentation considers what global changes mean for the contemporary practice and understandings of international peacemaking.
Roger Mac Ginty is a professor in the School of Government and International Affairs, Durham University, England. He is co-founder of the Everyday Peace Indicators project and is editor of the journal Peacebuilding. He is the 2025 Distinguished Scholar for the Peace Studies Section of the International Studies Association.
