This presentation is an exploration of the fascinating ways in which Vietnamese composers preserve their heritage and musical history, while at the same time transform and reimagine their music through the guise of western classical piano composition. Dr. Pierce will perform a variety of works written over the past century, many of which have never been recorded or performed outside of Vietnam.
