How can a person use their life and career to glorify God? In Professor Hegstrom’s life, the process of becoming a university professor allowed her to understand ways in which she could use her career to highlight and celebrate God’s work. While we may be unable to see the end from the beginning, the ongoing process of learning expands our understanding and enhances our ability to glorify God through our actions. In this talk, she will discuss how our work and life can unfold in surprising and delightful ways.

Valerie Hegstrom is Professor of Spanish Literature, and affiliated faculty of the Comparative Literature, European Studies, and Global Women’s Studies programs. Since 2011, she has served as Coordinator of Global Women’s Studies and faculty advisor to the GWS Honor Society.

Part of the Kennedy Center for International Studies' Disciple-Scholar Lecture Series.
